Rolf Hughes

Rolf is an award-winning English writer who has taught courses in writing, drama and literature at the University of East Anglia (UK), the University of Iowa (USA), Stockholm University (Sweden), The Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) and elsewhere. Rolf has published fiction and prose poems in the UK, USA and Sweden, and his work has been broadcast on BBC Radio and Radio Sverige (P3).

He came to Stockholm in 1995 to establish a Centre for the Study of Skill in the School of Architecture (KTH/Royal Institute of Technology) where he is also a part-time examiner and supervisor of PhD students. A Research Fellow at the Faculty of Technology, Open University (UK), Rolf organises seminars and publishes research as part of an international, multi-disciplinary research network on authorship, judgment and representation as well as hybrid theory and design methodology.

Rolf Hughes holds a First Class BA (Hons) degree in English from the University of York, a Distinction (a discretionary mark of excellence) awarded for his Master of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, and a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of East Anglia (UK). He was also awarded an Honorary Fellowship of Writing by the University of Iowa (USA) for his participation in the prestigious International Writing Program.
